Default clutch fluid?

What's the best clutch fluid? How much will I need? Any good instructions on how to change it out there? Video or a good write up somebody have done?

Ofcourse I'm haveing the same sticking to the floor issue. So if this fluid swap doesn't help, what is the best aftermarket clutch?

At the risk of sounding like a dope (wouldn't be the first time) can anyone tell my why you can't just use regular "cheap" brake fluid. It's a clutch, does it get that hot?

It gets very hot down there by the master cylinder and actuator.

The OE brake fluid is DOT 3 and that's completely satisfactory for the street. But because the clutch hydraulic system gets hotter down there by the exhaust and the back of the engine, the OE fluid in the clutch system is DOT 4 (actually Super DOT 4).

Butt......read the link in my previous post - it takes you to my fellow Ranger Ranger's great info about doing the Ranger method for keeping your clutch fluid clean.

In there, Ranger mentions Prestone DOT 4. That's what I use in my clutch systems. And that includes my Z06 that gets regular workouts on road courses at HPDE's a number of times throughout the year. Ranger's car does serious work at the drag strip with cheapo Prestone DOT 4.

Go to Walmart and you can buy Prestone DOT 4 for less than $3.00 for a 12 ounce bottle.

I just switched to Prestone DOT4, still in the "clean up" phase of Ranger's method. No pros or cons yet, but IMO Prestone is a big name, and DOT4 is better than DOT3 due to boiling point if I have read correctly. The change out takes little effort and thus is easily very worth it to me.
NOTE: Ranger's method of "pumping the clutch 30 times" did not work well for me at all. I just change it after every drive and consider that the "clean-up" phase. I will do this until it becomes clear, and then switch to every oil change and beginning of season intervals. For the people that don't believe the changeout is necessary, I just consider it easy TLC for the nice car I own.
