Comp Cams has two series of lobes that will work fine with stock LS3 springs as long as you're not trying to spin it to the moon. Extreme RPM low and high lift lobes will work fine with stock springs as long as the lift isn't too much more than the stock .550. The stock springs may lose a little as they age, but they rarely break. Upgraded aftermarket springs break too. Do a search on Comp's 918 springs. I have personal experience with those puppies. Cost me a motor. Lift on the cam I used was .581. The springs were allegedly good to .600 lift.
