Default Hud problem on 05

After several days of a heat index's in the 100's plus I went to use my Hud and it won't display on the windshield .I always leave my windows cracked and cover the wind shield with sunshades.I tried the brightness level ,mode and up/down buttons on the cluster pod with no results. Could it be a blown fuse or maybe the cluster pod gone bad ? All the settings on my Fobs seems to have retained all their memory settings. Can anyone point me in the right direction to trouble shoot this problem because I refuse to take it to a dealer.Thanks.

Steve,

Sorry for yor HUD troubles!

I sent a visitor message to Andrew6 to ask him about your HUD issue since he is a Supporting Vendor on installing them. He said the following - "with out seeing in person I can only assume. I've seen where the projector will dim in direct sunlight, but will generally return after a short time. The other problem is that the projector just may have hit the end of its time and just needs replaced."

Might try sending a visitor messaage to Steve Doten. As he does HUD installs too.

I will be glad to look at it for you or if needs replaced. I will be glad to help you with it.

Tim

I agree, :

i agree, contact Steve Doten as he is a Corvette Forum vendor that installs HUD's. Steve installed mine and he is an expert in these matters.

His e-mail address is: c6doten@gmail.com

Try the fuse first. If that doesn't work ....

I've heard something similiar to this happen before and it has something to do with projector. The projector had to be replaced due to damage to the previous one. Projectors are around close to 300 but labor is what will kill you on that one. It's actually more of a pain to remove and install a HUD in a car with a HUD than it is one with out one. Not saying it can't be done but it is a pain.
Once projector is replaced invest in windsheild cover sun block If you have any other questions feel free to call me.

Manual says the HUD won't work with a lot of sun around. My HUD works mostly at night and sunless days.
