i have been reading some reviews about the invo's.....it seems very split...either people love them or hate them with no in between. biggest complaint was tire flex...thoughts from people who have had them??
Far as i know there is a new version to replace the PS2, the pilot super sport. I hear most people like the invo. There is no doubt the super sport is better.
The invo is a great tire. It flexes a little because it is much softer and a better ride than the Michelin's. I have had both. If you're not road racing or doing a lot of twist and turn driving the Invo is a great solution.

Get the PS2's. The Invo is a downgrade from the stock GY supercar tires in terms of response and grip in turns. The NT05 is pretty similar to the GYs and the PS2 is an upgrade.

The NT05 is as good as a runflat?
The specifically formulated tread compound and reinforced internal construction were engineered to emphasize dry road response, traction, handling and high-speed capabilities. The reinforced tread blocks and the large continuous center rib provide exceptional rigidity and stability.
To answer your question in the for sale section, I think the wear indicators are about 3/32 high, but I haven't measured them myself. That would give you 5/32 of tire life remaining, give or take.

Yes, around a road course the GY supercars are excellent tires, as are the NT05s.

Are we talking stock or modified? The GY couldn't even handle first when I was stock. I would think they would be a total joke at 550+, though I don't track my car and I don't run GYs so I can't prove anything.

The GY Supercar's poor strait line grip is not indicative of their solid road course grip. At least before they go off.
I have invos I run in the summer and put my GYSC on in the winter. Compared to the GYSC, my nittos:
* Ride much better and are quieter
* Have better straightline traction, but I was hoping for a bigger improvement than what I got.
* Corner on the street as well as my GYSC, but the sidewall flex took time to get use to. It felt like my front sway bar was disconnected on turn-in. I had to use the G meter in the HUD to build back my confidence on how hard I could push them.
i just took my vette out with ps2's on back and stock gy runflats out front and i can pull some good G ratings on the hud. i know that running mix matched is not optimal, but when the rears (gy run flats) were spent i bought some used ps2's to try em out. even with that set up the car handles great. my main concern is the sidewall flex of the nitto's i hear so much about, but is there a less expensive tire than the ps2's that offer good cornering w/o the heavy price tag? i know i know...you get what you pay for...but i dont track my vette.
I have had many GY supercar tires and agree when they are relatively new they very decent track tires but they aren't worth a damn in any other category.
Fast forward, I have had my Invo's on my car for approx 20k miles and will buy them again when I wear these out (maybe 35-40% wear so far) I can drive with confidence in the rain, cold weather is a loss of traction for sure but I doubt any tire in the same category is going to hold my power level below 40 degrees.
Handling: I kinda understand the soft sidewall comments so I put 2 more pounds in my tires and forgot about it. Wheel hop had been a problem with my car from the beginning of ownership so I installed Bilsteins last fall and the car handels extremely well now, I have a Z51 06 M6 with over 450 rwhp and stock size Nitto Invo's.
Nitto Invo's are not a great tire, regardless of what the majority of this board believes.
There are MANY better selections out there. NT05's, RE-11, Khumo XS, PS2s, Ventus V12's, and on.
Personally, on a stock size wheel near stock power, I'd go with V12.
I would have bought the NT05 if they had same sizes as Invos. PS2's are a major investment, although they last really well.
I'd like to try the RE-11 next.
