Default Halo Prep & Finish Options

Will be getting a second halo for my C6 and want to change color/texture to match it up with the clear top. The halo I am getting is finished in a different color from my car. So, I want to strip the existing paint/clear coat off and then refinish it in paint or something else.

I have heard that others paint their halos black. At least one other forum member has wrapped his in vinyl. Think I read where a vendor may finish these in a carbon fiber finish - has anyone seen this?

Any other options?

Also, how do I go about stripping the existing paint and clear coat off the halo to prepare it for the new finish? Sanding, paint stripper ??

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

i wrapped mine in vinyl since i really want the sic motorsports REAL carbon fiber roof and halo. vinyl is half the price of paint. hydrocarbon looks good to some. its basically a paint process. water apply graphics that is then clear coated. black paint looks great. the key to any paint job is the prep. black is the hardest it will show ANY defects. you dont need to completely remove stock paint just scuff it so new paint will stick.

leave the prep to the pros. thats what will make or break your finish coat.

i vote for black paint looks great with lmb and glass roof.
