Default Cam Specs, what Can I Expect

If my research is accurate, it looks like the stock LS3 engine cam has the following specs.

0.551/0.524-inch lift, 204/211-degree duration, 117 LSA

The cam I'll have in the car after install should have roughly:

0.6xx-inch lift, 23x/24x-degree duration, 113 LSA.

What types of performance changes can I expect as far as idle quality, low vs high end torque, and width of power curve? Granted, the car already has corsa exhaust, kook's long tube headers, a 2500 rpm stall, and GMPP 5364 heads.

That is a pretty healthy cam.

I hope you would already know before installation.

Hope there are no surprises for you.

Car should be a screamer.

Assuming middle 230's and 240's, you're looking at 14 degrees of overlap. That pretty well equals a rough idle and your car rocking at stop lights. Should make good power.....just not too much below 3000 rpm. Pull really hard on the top end. You'll need a good valve train and some RPM's to take advantage of it. That's pretty close to what I'd consider too big to fool with on the street. Some like it. Not for me

Hard to say...is that 231/241 or in the neighborhood of like 239/249? Difference could be having under 10 degrees overlap to almost 20 degrees overlap.

Assuming low to mid 230/240 you'll be making good power over 3k rpms and peak probably mid 6k. The cam going in mine is a 238/242 110 and should come on like a freak around 4k.

What lobes? Makes a big difference as well if their LSK lobes or an endurance lobe like EPS

Well, its an England Green Mayhem II cam with (as close as I could figure out) specs listed. As far as I understand, the duration is low 230's / low 240's. I know the lift is pretty high and LSA is not terribly narrow.

MY guess...around 500HP. That torque converter may have to re stalled to 3200-3600 for good driveability.

Yeah, I'd definitely get that converter bumped up.

Please elaborate. I was under the impression that if you went with too high of a stall that the car's streetability would be poor. What roadblocks am i looking at with a 2500 rpm stall?

From performance curves I've seen, the torque profile is pretty flat across the power band, so would I necessarily have any issues at all with a 2500 rpm stall?

Stall will be fine. Lift is .630 and it's on a 113LSA. Expect circa 440+rwhp with your GMPP CNC heads, even with your A6.

Cromagnum - 2008 A6 Corvette, EnglandGreen Mayhem II cam, GMPP CNC L92 heads, Stall, Headers, cats, CAI.

493rwhp, 441rwtq. This is really strong for an automatic!

Drives smooth as silk - shakes like an addict in rehab at idle
