Did you happen to do an axle back install recently?

no, no work done close or near the gas tanks, and yes I read all the possible issues, so far I checked fuse #13. funny thing is that my friend with his G8 just got the same code.

Actually I think this is part of the emmisions system warranty so you should be covered.

Bring this back from the dead. Anyone know if the P0449 is covered under the Powertrain/emission's warranty for sure? I am just outside my bumper to bumper warranty by 2 months. Thanks in advance.

Hi it is a emission related fault, it pervents fuel vapours from entering the atmosphers when fuel tank pressurizes. We no longer use a charcoal canister for this , but we all know how dealerships are regarding warranty.

Gas cap loose, left ignition on while filling or defective.
The above applies most of the time, however also a chance of a cracked hose in filler tou be or on top of tank.
Best course of action, smoke test to localize leak.
good luck.
