Well i was enjoying driving my car for a week or so. Thats as long as the fun lasted, the problem is back. The whole wont start thing where the green light comes on, push the button and ......nothing. The needles sweep relays click then follow is the sad look on my face. And i can always tell when its about to happen cause when im driving all the gauges will start to go crazy and the a/c will blow, but it wont be cold and the power of the car is drasticly reduced. Then service trac. service fuel system. service this and that. then when i shut it off, it wont start for a month or a couple of weeks. I even took my pioneer radio out thinking maybe it was the problem and put my factory radio back in, and still nothing. Now u maybe asking me why i havent took it to the dealer yet. Well i have several vehicles and a chopper so if it sits up for a while its really not a problem but i really am starting to miss my car. looked on the forum and i see some people have said from
a loose ground to a bad ecu. But im not going to lie im very skeptical
about taking it to the dealer cause i just took my wifes car to the lexus dealer and 2500 dollars later my wifes car is still not woking right. so i really dont know.
What year? If you are under warranty (and I assume it's fairly new?) drop it off and let them sort it out.
You may want to go to your local area forum on here and ask for recomended dealer/service dept.
If no warranty, you are in a good location because there are a lot of reputable Corvette performance shops (several are forum sponsers) in the Houston area.
well I would say once you miss it and its worth XXX amount of money to get it fixed you will bring it to the dealer and hopefully they will fix it. Other than that it will sit in your garage and continue to die on you while driving ect. just making you frown! Time to man up and pay the bill, it sucks and the electrical issues these cars have can make them a nightmare from everything I have read. I just hope I don't fall in the same boat. Good luck bud. Let us know what the outcome is to possibly help others in the future.
Sounds like a Bad/weak battery. Can cause these things. Get a multi-meter and check vdc across the posts. Should be at least 12.40 vdc at rest. Clean the posts/cable ends if corroded.
After that, hook meter to battery posts again and have someone crank engine, watch volts while cranking. Anything under 9.5 volts cranking indicates new battery is needed.
You can take battery to advance, autozone and have them put a load test on it if you would rather do that. Good luck.

Man tough pill to swallow. But if i can fix this myself it would be so sweet. save a wrecker fee. Especially if its just a ground/battery/voltage regulator/starter issue.

Yes, it may be something very simple but if you haven't gotten it solved yet yourself why are you balking at going to the dealer? The first thing they will do is hook it up to a Tech 2 and see if there are any relevant trouble codes. Just because you may not see a light on the dash doesn't mean there aren't relevant codes. If you don't have the proper diagnostic equipment to read trouble codes on the car you may never be able to get it running properly. A Joe Schmuck code reader won't get the job done either. There may not be any codes but even that will tell them something. Besides the shotgun approach have you tried developing a diagnostic strategy that you can follow through a series of steps to eliminate potential trouble areas thus narrowing the scope of the problem as you go? Do you have a Service Manual that shows all of the ground points and schematics so you even know where to look? Do you know how to read schematics, test electrical circuits and perform fault isolation on them?
Yes, it may cost you a wrecker fee and a dealer charge but they have a much better chance of getting the car working than you do since it looks like what you are doing is guessing what to fix.
If you haven't replaced the battery do it. This sounds 100% like the battery. When mine was going dead it did strange shiiit like this. If you haven't replaced the battery swing by a GM dealership and pick up a replacement AC delco. Don't go buy some wal-mart crap.
I hope its just the battery for you bud!...... and as to why I didn't suggest that right away Im sorry. I do recall reading many posts with "crazy electrical" issues that ended up just being a weak battery!..... let us know what happens.
