Default Parking Brake

Interested to know the degree of firmness – lever position, others experience when engaging the parking brake. Mine seems a bit excessive at about 55-60* (9 clicks; seems to be the max.) in order to qualify a firm hold when in Drive, and uncertain whether it’s average or needs attention. Just attempting to keep in check moments of an automobile that may fall out of adjustment. Tia

Sounds excessive but can't say for sure without feeling it.

Here's probably more than you want to know about the parking brake but it's good info:

Your car is both average and in need of attention. Most C6 parking brakes need attention.

Mine got so bad it couldn't quite hold the car on a steep hill when the lever was pulled up to the last click. I adjusted it and now it only takes about 3-4 clicks.

Thanks, and appreciate your input but previously scoped the thread as well as familiar with the procedure for adjustments. Attempting instead, by comparison from an operational feel, to arrive at a consensus whether it constitutes adjustment or it’s simply a shared common point (measure) others are experiencing as well. Just don’t desire to improve or waste time where it may prove unnecessary in outcome.

Then I agree with torquetube.......3 - 5 (max) clicks.
