Just want to put in a plug for one of our Vendors- MGW GEORGE. I replaced my stock shifter with George's MGW shifter over the weekend and man what a difference! Shifts are now precise and short without a whisker of any sloppiness. I should have made this mod years ago. For $250 this is perhaps the best bang for the buck around. The engineering, design, material quality, and ease of installation are superb. A great product.

Thinking about this update too but i'm a bit intimidated by the install. Seriously, how easy is it to screq it up or not get it right? Any specialized tools? Thx.

No need to be intimidated at all. It's about the Easiest mod you can do to yourself. Its almost impossible to screw it up. It takes me about 20 minutes to install a shifter. Here is a link

Pretty hard to screw it up, it's an easy install and the instructions sent by Peter are superb and easy to follow (with pictures). Instructions are on a CD. He even sends locktite and thread lube with the kit. The most time consuming part is getting the various electrical connectors disconnected while removing the console bezel. No special tools needed.
I just received mine last week for my LS2. I've been making other mod changes but this install is on the short list after tomorrow's scheduled tuning (and I find the instructions and dvd that I stuck somewhere because it was so important........... When your (/ I'M) stupid your / My whole body suffers.)
I heard that the newest MGWs have an adjustable height and that they've done away with the different height handles. How did that work out for you?
I heard George made improvements to this design and we will be happy for the additional wait (back ordered for a little over a month) - but I don't know what change was made. I also ordered a second lever at the time / have not installed any. Looking forward to this function being improved.
I had a b&m in my last c6 and now a mgw in my new c6 and the difference in quality is night and day. The mgw is so precise its almost like I can think about what gear to go into and it reads my mind. I have two friends that just bought manual c6's and I have convinced them that the mgw is a must.

It took me 35 minutes from start to finish last Saturday morning and that included taking the console apart as well as drinking coffee. All you need are basic hand tools. "Torx bits, sockets, and wrench to tighten the new design shift handle." They even include a hex wrench for the new shifter bolts however I found it easier just to use my own since their tool handle is very short.

Yes, height is adjustable. All the way down is about the same as the stock shifter height, which is where I put mine. I also bought an additional shaft with a threaded top in case I ever want to go to a threaded **** instead of the original shift ****. I'm using the original shift **** shaft right now.
FWIW - The new install directions are a combo off the CD (for C6) and a two page written insert. The two page insert references a need to remove the bottom bushing from the stocker and move it to the MGW. (The instructions have the technical names / descriptions - this is from memory trying to help though!)
When speaking to George this AM he told me that swap is specifically for the Z06 / not the C6. For the C6 use the bushing that is installed on the MGW. Hope this helps.
