Default DIY Porting and polishing intake

I just enrolled in an engine repair class this fall to kill time before I go to vet school in January. I will be installing g5x3 kit, lg lts and c5z06 diff with 3.73s on my c6z51. The teacher is really cool about us doing our own things on our cars. Ive have searched this forum and also youtube for a good diy but have not found anything concrete. Could someone please explain how much I should shave off? (read in some thread 1/16th and another to match to heads). Also how deep in the runners should i go? Any other suggestions such as tools needed would be greatly appreciated. I have every car tool at my disposal and if its not available theyll get it for me.

Summary: As I said before, a solid intake porting diy please

Procedure-Measurements

Thanks in Advance
Carlos

It was super easy to do, only took about three hours and there was defiantly a noticeable gain.
