Default Dyno Numbers

I have an 06 Z51 with headers, K&N intake and Predator tune, 404 RWHP on Mustang Dyno.

Added Wegner CNC LS3 heads, FAST intake, Comp Cam, Euclid ZR1 radiator, Z06 oil cooler, 508.7 RWHP.

West Bend Dyno did all the work and tune.

Will post sheets as soon as I can scan them.

If you had that done where I think you did, be aware that dyno reads about 30hp higher then alot of its local competitors. Still a very solid increase though! Cant beat 100hp increase, feels like a new car I bet.

I am really happy.

Look for the write up in GM High Tech Performance Mag later this year.

Default Dyno

06 LS2 with Trickflow Heads ( Cathedral heads, not LS3) , Vengeance VRX5 cam, 92mm Fast intake, longtubes, screamer exhaust , KN FIPK , . only 483 HP at wheels on a Mustang Dyno. I wished that I could get over 500 HP like you did. Did you leave out some other part not on your list?

404rwhp out of a bolt ons LS2 without a FAST intake (or an under drive pulley or an electric water pump or even a ported throttle body)?
Still nice gains but those final number do sound just a wee bit optimistic (unless they're uncorrected numbers?).
Either way that car has got be a blast to drive.

Trunion rockers, valve springs, ported throttle body.

To be frank, I thought 480ish and was surprised by over 500.

As always, the actual number is a bit irrelevant. That fact that you gained over 100 RWHP is what matters! That's awesome. Just to clarify, the before and after numbers were accomplished on the same Mustang Dyno with the same settings?

Yes, same dyno and same weather.

I soon as I get home I will post the sheets.

The original plan was to install the new Trick Flow LS7 heads for an LS2, but I gave up waiting and had Wegner engines build me a pair of CNC LS3 heads.

Tom is the tuner at West Bend Dyno in West Bend WI. They are new shop and do nice work.

If you have Citgo stations in your area, the owner is they guy in the dyno shop ads that they are running.

Which dyno shop? If that is a accurately calibrated Mustang dyno that is a very stout running motor.

The car also had a ported tb, underdrive pulley and it's a fast 102mm intake.

Not sure where all the debate comes from? A gain is a gain... And the Pulls were made on the same Dyno, roughy same conditions and 2 days apart.

The 508.7 is the wcf number, not raw. The raw was in the 485 range iirc.

The afr is 12.8 and 27 degrees advance by 5800.

LOL!!!!! 404rwhp from intake/longtubes and a handheld program?!?!?

That has got to be the most skewed reading I've ever seen on this board.

Picking up 100rwhp from a heads/cam build is very good, but don't think you're actually making over 500rwhp.

There's no debate about the gain, just about how horribly inaccurate the before/after numbers are.

On the same dyno what would you expect to see the same car dyno @ in stock trim?

My 05 LS2 made 384/392 on a Mustang with ported stock IM and headers. Made 468/445 by adding FAST 102, CNC'd stock heads and mild cam. Same car made 485/440 on a Dynojet. This all done in S Florida in August, so numbers may be higher when the weather cools off a bit.

I would be very surprised if the OP's build could match his original numbers on a Dynojet. Making over 500 rwhp can be done, ask HC Mechanic. He made 525 rwhp in a max effort build in stock ported heads. Leavin U is also above 500 rwhp on stock heads.
