Default Billy Boat exhuast install = engine problems PLEASE READ

I just installed fusions on my 2011 GS that came with the NPP option. I came out after picking it up from the dealer went on a 15min drive and ate lunch. I came out and my car had the "service traction control" and "service stability control" lights on and the engine light was flashing. I could tell the engine seemed to be miss firing or not running on all cylinders so i had it nursed to the the dealer. Im wondering if anyone else has expericenced this. Any input is appreciated. Im pretty dissappointed in the sound and the fact its throwing codes from an axle back system.

My guess is the battery ran down while they were working on it. Everything you describe is consistent with a low battery. Try putting a charger on it.

I'm sorry to hear about that, but they're definitely responsible for taking care of the issue now that they've worked on it.

I'm curious though on a couple things...

Why did you have the dealer work on it and not a performance shop?

Why on earth did you change the NPP out for the Fusions? It's essentially the same thing.

On a good note though, you'll be able to sell your NPP exhaust for a very pretty penny as they still fetch top dollar and recover a lot of the cost of the Fusion setup.

One of the first things I did to my car was have B & B Fusions put on. Purifoy did the change for me and did a nice quick job of it, and I couldn't be happier with the Fusions. Doubt it has anything to do with the Fusions. Take it back and have the folks that installed it resolve the issue. Best of luck, IMO it's the best exhaust out there.

i thought i would retain the dual mode with a more agressive open mode. back to the drawing board. NPP sounds more aggressive IMO.

I wanna say it sounds like battery too but not sure the misfire is consistent with that? I also want to say I'm surprised the dealer would do this without disconnecting the battery but actually that seems totally consistent with the standard expected.

If a scanner shows one or more cylinders misfiring check the fit of the spark plug wire on the coil. Myself and a few others have had the metal terminal inside the boot on that end of the wire broken, probably during assembly. Mine fell off at 300 miles. A simple misfire will cause the other messages you've mentioned.

The Fusions are one of the few exhausts that are actually heavier than stock. No thank you.

I was surprised at how tame the Fusions at open sounded on a cammed Z06. NPPs are definitely more aggressive open.

Really? I haven't heard anything that sounds better than the Fusions. At least, I think mine sound way better than NPPs. Much deeper tone. NPPs always sound really 'poppy' to me with headers.

edit: this was with the flaps open

I never liked the sound of any of the cam/header NPP cars I've heard. But you know what they say - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Same thing goes for exhaust note, I guess.

Thanks, but the exhaust note under acceleration is unbelievable, I've had a lot of good comments on it.
The Cam Spinmonster picked out for my engine combo, 236/240 613 lift.
Works great
