Default TR6060 Compatibility - Ford version same as Corvette?

I found a deal on a TR6060 out of a 2008 Shelby Mustang. Does anyone know if they are the same as the 2008+ Corvette TR6060?

How could they be the same? The Mustang is for a front engine, FRONT TRANSMISSION car the 'Vette trans is for a front engine, REAR TRANSMISSION car.

Internals may be the same but input side and output side have to be different because of the location of the trans.

I'm not too worried about swapping out the input and/or output shafts if that is the only difference. I'm looking for some input regarding case dimensions and shifting linkage. Make or break differences in the two applications.

The internals are similar but they have different ratios. You will need new front cover (Ford is one piece bellhousing/front cover), tailshaft housing, main shaft, input shaft and all new shifter shaft and related parts. Since Ford TR6060 has a different length input shaft, you will need to replace the input shaft along with cluster shaft. Once you replace the cluster shaft, 1-3 gears on the main shaft has to be replaced to match the cluster shaft gears. At the end, you will use the main case and misc parts in the trans (overdrive gears, bearings, snap rings etc). Not worth it IMO.

Thanks for the detailed reply Rick. Like you said, not worth the expense. I'll just stick with my original plan to rebuild the T56.

Besides, you don't want to use any FORD parts anyway.
