Default HUD repair caused problems

I recently had my shop replace a damaged HUD(mirror loose from mount) with the hvac duct cutting method described on the forums. After about 10 days and 1000mi the climate control on drivers side blows only hot air. It never turns off or cools unless you turn off the system. Passenger side works great.

I know there is a sensor in the duct work but I dont know what it is for. Any ideas on this problem.

Would be great if we got an answer of what caused this problem and how to fix it.

Im new at this forum and just bought an Corvette C6 ´05 here in Sweden with a busted HUD unit and a drivers power seat problem. I have looked around and found some promising threads about my problems but almost always the threads die out just as they seem to try somethings and promising to get back with the outcome but almost they never do.

I thought these forums was a way to get information from each other and learn from different people and their knowledge. Some guys know lots about the engine and others about electronics and other about the chassie and so on, and here we can help each other and take care of our babies in the best and in a economic way. =)

If i find a solution on problems on my car i would surely get back to you guys and tell you what it was..! =)

Sorry for bad spelling since English isnt my native language.

You'll certainly need to take an assistant along and I just happen to be available.

This info leads me to the opinion that your problem has nothing to do with the HUD repair. I'd say you are simply experiencing the common mode actuator failure problem. Don't know what year your car is but quite a few '05-'07 cars are having this problem now. Seems to be age and use related. It was a big problem with the C5's.

If your car is still in warranty just let a dealer take care of it. If out of warranty and you are paying for repair, be aware that the typical cost is around $1500. The dash has to be removed. And there are 4 of them in there......SO if you do determine that one has to be replaced you would be well advised to replace all 4 at once because the others will be failing in the future and each one will be another $1500. The parts are only "about $50/ea".

Again, just my opinion. Good luck.
