Default Dyno numbers seem low for mods (C6Z06)

This was done last month in the middle of the texas heat but I still expected better numbers.Conditions per the dyno sheet were 110.54 deg 16 %humidity, 28.86in HG. = 523.27RHP, 489.24RTQ

Mods: stock heads milled .030
Stalker cam (224/246 115)
LG Super Pro headers 1-7/8 w/cats
FAST 102 w/stock injectors on FAST rails
NW TB
TR6 plugs (.035)
Halltech CF112
LSX9 clutch
stock thermostat (coolant was around 200 during the runs)

Bone stock dyno for comparison. June 08

Maybe I'm not seeing something, but those mods in 110* heat seems pretty good. With such high compression and ambient temp you'd probably gain quite a bit from meth injection. 523rwhp in 110* heat is a beast.

What numbers were you expecting?

Does the FAST even pick up much on the Z06?

that dyno graph scaling makes it look like you have a weird powerband, but once you get your bearings on the chart it looks ok.

That's pretty hot air even though the motor wasn't hot. I bet it would do ~550whp in 70-80* weather.

Well, from what I've seen on here, just hook-it-up to a Mustang Dyno and you'll probably hit 600rwhp!

Don't be overly focused on HP. I've seen plenty of graphs of 500+rwhp H/c cars that barely make 400tq. Your tq is at 489 which is pretty decent. As others have said , cooler temps will produce better numbers.

Well Mustang Dyno's will generally show a decent bit lower than a dynojet

Correct. A mustang dyno will read lower.

The graph is scaled wrong so it makes it look off but with that heat i wouldnt say the numbers are terrible.

The cam is only 5* overlap with a smallish intake duration, so that doesn't seem out of line.

TQ is pretty strong which I'd guess in part is caused by a relatively early IVC for a 427 with milled heads. That cam is a really big split for a car with 1 7/8 headers which helps explain why you have such a nice flat HP curve past peak.

If you are unhappy, I'd think a smaller split such as a 230/238 114 would make more power and still have same drivability.

Actually, I think those numbers look GREAT for 110 degree ambient, AND low barometric pressure of 28.86 Hg.

Run it again when you have 50 degree ambient and 30.00 or higher pressure...then you'll see the "big" numbers

Yep....back the exhaust duration off a bit and that's a small cam even for an LS2/3. Agree that your numbers are pretty damn solid considering the mild cam and the fact that your dyno run was done in a freakin' oven. With 427 cubes to play with, you can go quite a bit bigger on the cam and still maintain excellent street manners.

numbers seem in line.... af looks a little lean of the redline indicates 13.0 AF... bring it down to about 12.5:1 it will likely pickup

I agree everything seems good especially with the heat and mild cam. The mild cam really helps keep that torque up Congrats and like others said forget the number its just a number!

I am also having the heads milled a bit along with a valve job and a cam being installed currently. Did you have a valve job done? I am wondering if just the valve job part is worth power? This will be a nice comparison with some interesting differences. My car is in NY where it is looking like she is going to be tuned in fall conditions which means really nice cool air, I am not getting a fast intake, I am having the throttle body ported (did you?), I am not sure how much we are milling the heads but I will find out, my cam i was told is like 244/266 with .700 or so lift on both sides so it is quite a bit larger then yours.

The temp difference may skew the comparison but it shall be interesting to see where the power bands line up as well as the torque. I am sure your car is an animal! Go pick on some lambos and turbo porsches then you will forget all about some number!!

The heads were just milled. I also have the 102 TB, not ported though.

well if you have the 102TB then you wouldnt need it ported. I am keeping the stock intake so I need mine ported.
