Default installing my cage

I will be installing my 5 point cage this weekend and the instructions are niot the best do any of you guys have any tips????? How do you remove the center console? I will also be intalling my 5 point harness can I attach the side belts to the same bolt that holds the factory belts? This will put the factory belt and the racing belt on the same bolt. I do not plan on installing the submarine strap because I am using my factory seats.

Unless the 2011 rules changed from 2010, the crotch strap is still required if you are wanting to meet the NHRA specs.

You can't use a 5 point harness without the crotch strap, as soon as you tighten the shoulder belts you'll pull the lap belt up over your belly. The point of the crotch belt is to keep the lap belts in place over your pelvic bone, almost no load goes through there in a crash.

I did that on my Camaro.

I agree with the above comments on the crotch strap.

what cage are you installing?
any reason you are doing 5pt versus 6 pt?
what does the center console have to come out?

as far as removing the console, it seems pretty easy
this fella did an AWESOME job with photos documenting the process

I just got off the phone with Wolfe and it is legal. Sense it is a bolt in cage it should be welded in the back but this is a grey area and they normally let it slide. The 5 point bolt in is legal to a 10.0, but the tracks I run will let it slide into the upper 9's.

As for the sub strap I can install it but I am not going to cut my seat and run it up under my crotch so it will not serve much function other then looks.
