Keyless Ignition
When should the ingition switch light up green? I thought it was anytime the fob was located inside the car?
What parameters or requirements need to be met in order to initiate a signal to be sent to the ignition switch to create a green light scenario ( pun intended)?
The purpose of these questions is that I am almost certain that the ignition switch light would turn green anytime the fob was in the car.
Well I disconnected the negative battery cable all day while i installed a new Nav unit. Reconnected everything and everything in the car seems to work properly "except" the ignition switch light.
The ignition light will turn green upon "First Entering the car and starting it ", however while seated in the car if I turn the car off and then go to hit the switch again it is not green anymore but will still crank just fine?
Any comments or suggestions?

But my casual observation over the last 6 years is that "the ignition switch lights up green when it wants to." I'm sure there is a logic to it, but i haven't figured it out yet. Kinda like why does the car start to chime when I get in, sometimes but not always.
