Default Poor Gas Mileage Help

I've had poorer than normal gas mileage for some months now and can't really figure it out. Back in June, out of the blue, I had a P2176 code (first and only code I ever got) come up. It began by it not starting for a few tries, then started up with no problem???? After that, nothing's been out of the ordinary while driving, etc. Went to AZ shortly afterwards and they read it and it said "Minimum throttle position not learned ECM". Also. no other codes came up. Can this cause bad gas mileage??? I've looked on line, etc. but can't find if this could be a cause. Btw, I was normally getting 18 - 21 mpg and if I babied it around and on the causeway where I drive, I could get into the high 20's and even 30+ (if I was being ridiculous about it). Now i'm pushing it to get 13, 15, maybe barely 17, if I'm lucky. Anyway, I now have 19K and change on it and have not had any problems during my 4 1/2 years. Waterpump was replaced by the dealership last year but that's it. Anyone know?

P2176

The difference between the predicted and the actual throttle position is more than a calibrated amount for more than 1.5 seconds.

Same thing I said in your other thread on this topic.

Thanks Elmer. Hadn't even checked back on that one yet.

No tune but do have a V-Max "ported" tb as well as my Vararam. Waiting for the 5 year to run out (however I do have an ew) and maybe "blow" it with the Edlebrock, etc.. I've enjoyed pretty good mileage all this time so needless to say, this is costing me aggrivation and some extra $$'s at the pump.

Aftermarket TB? Sounds like that might be a hint as to the source of the mileage drop. Maybe the TB and the ECM are having a failure to communicate!

I'm answering you in both places (lol). Never had any problems with the "ported" tb. And I sent him mine way back for him to port. I guess there that there could be an issue but never had an indication of it. A few pics of when I received it back . . .
