Hey all! I have my first possible Technical issue with my 2008 MN6, bone stock/stock runflats etc.
Here it is:
Today when I went to start the car it turned over but it seemed to crank slow, but started up, idle may have been very slightly on the rough side but nothing too unusual with the idle.
I went to the gym 1 mile away
When starting the car after the gym it cranked slowly again like it was going to have a hard time starting and the dash lights dimmed in and out when it cranked over, but it started. I shut it down and re-started, same thing. Also the TPMS sensors all read 0 psi, after about 30 seconds the right rear sensor read 30psi then the others came online over the next 1 minute.
While driving all temps look good, my battery voltage is always 13.9-14.2 volts at idle or WOT. The TPMS sensors seemed to read as usual. I recently raised the pressure to about 31psi HOT to keep them from dropping to low as winter is approaching and it will be sitting in storage.
Also- after I got home from driving 5 miles and a few WOT to see how it felt (normal), I shut it down, waited 30 seconds and re-started. This time it started up perfectly.
Any Ideas at all gang? 2008 25k miles z-51 mn6, factory battery as far as I know.
It just sounds to me like your battery is getting ready to give up. You should replace it before you get stranded somewhere. 3 years is average time for a factory battery to last.
+1 on the battery. Most guys get 3-4 years out of the battery. Most likely started right up since the alternator had enough time to put some charge back in temporarily.
It takes a good 30 minutes of driving to recharge the battery from the suck of the start. charge the battery or drive it longer. Short trips will kill a battery.

Battery is what I thought. I will have a charger on it all winter and Im only a few weeks from putting it away for winter, thus I will buy a new battery 1st thing in spring. Thanks all for the responses! Ohh- and my family just gave me a full day of Racing and Pro- instruction in my Vette at Brainerd Int. Raceway here in MN for my golden Bday! wow spring wont come fast enough!
short q.: 31 lbs. hot? that means when the tires cool down they're at what? 28? 27? that's kinda low if you ask me. keep it up around 30 cold by hand checking in morning.

UPDATE- Battery was dead this morning. I purchased a new stock battery. Is there a special procedure for replacement due to all of the electronics in this car? Thanks all.
Replace battery
With ignition on, roll window down all the way and hold 5 extra seconds
Roll window all the way up and hold 5 extra seconds
Make sure doors are shut when you do this
