This topic is much debated here. I am from the de screen camp. I have de screened every LS1 and LS2 I have ever owned. [ 6 and counting ] . I haven't experienced any problems, the throttle response improves, the air flow improves by 10 to 12 % . You should adj your LTFT's for 0 to -2% . If you search this forum , there is much pro and con on the topic. The ZO6 factory MAF does not have a screen.

Descreened every LS1 and LS2 I've owned, which is 9 and counting, easy 3 rwhp without affecting driveability and I did not retune the vehicled. Yes, I actually have dynoed before and after the mod on 3 occassions, helps to be a owners friend. Revak is right about the 10-12% increase in airflow.
