Got the key, for the second fob.. couldn't get the car in to program mode so it would work. Took the car in today to the local dealer they wanted $99 to program my new fob because I didn't buy the car from them. I told them I would do it my self if the car would go into program mode so they needed to fix it and I would program it myself.
At first they came back and told me that it was a misprint in the owners manual and that feature was not available on the 2011. I mentioned I was on this forum and how much knowledge was here and no one here had mentioned anything about 2011s not having a program mode.
They went back in and came back a little while later saying they had called GM tech support and that is who told them to tell me it was no longer a feature, but in fact support had tole them that the computer is finicky, program mode just doesn't work on some cars, and they don't know why.
So they programmed the fob for free and sent me home.
On a side note, I just got my 2011 2LT manual for $41k from a dealer 70mi South. While I was at the local dealer, I was looking around, they had a yellow 2012 1LT with auto and chrome wheels, and a market value adjustment that put the sticker at $60k.. No wonder I didn't buy from them.
