Default LS2 Oil Filters

Learned something on the LS2 Oil Filter Debate: I am using a AC Delco UPF44R on my 2007 C6 LS2 Z51..(This is important) On a regular C6 without the Z51 Option you can use the UPF48R Filter...the filter boss on the Z51 us larger than on a regular LS2...Found this out the hard way when someone told me to use the UPF48R....and of course found out it want work..the Z51 LS2 used 6.0 qts of oil compared to 5.6 in the non Z51 LS2.
Also, yesterday I was in my local K-Mart store here in Dallas, GA. Mobil One Oil was on sale for $5.69 per quart..bought all they had...check other K-Marts in your area, what a great deal..the 5 Quart jug was like $39.00 bucks:

2005 LS2 takes a PF44/PF46 or UPF44
2006 LS2 takes a PF44/PF46 or UPF44
2007 LS2 takes a PF48 or UPF48R

It makes no difference if the car has the Z51 option. The oil filter requirement is dependant on model year. The reason the Z51 requires additional oil is because of the oil cooler.

The only way that an 07 LS2 of any model takes a 44/46 series filter is that someone has changed out the mounting bolt to an 06 or earlier bolt that accepts the older 44/46 series thread pitch. I assume that is possible.
