Carbotech vs PFC vs Hawk vs ????
But I need help.
I have an '07 Z51 with a few "upgrades".... GT2 Coil-overs, Pfadt "fatty" sway bars, 18x10 front wheels, and 19x11 rears, running Toyo R888 tires.
We use this car mostly for Autocross (8 - 12 sessions per year... 2 or 3 drivers), and one or two track days a year, then some (little) street driving.
We've been doing this for over 30 years, so I do pretty much know what I'm doing.
But the Brake SQUEAL is really getting to me.
I now have Carbon Lorraine pads (RC5+) installed.
Street driving is driving me NUTS... the squeal is REALLY BAD.
I've bedded them in many times, but the squeal keeps coming back.
I've tried Hawk HP+ for many years ... some squeal but sort of bearable.
So.... what do you "Gurus" recommend ?????
I want little or no non-corrosive dust, minimal squeal while driving on the street, yet GREAT BITE and GRIP on the autocross course.
I'll accept whatever comes out of this for the "easy" track days.

I run street pads on my Stoptech BBK for the C6 and they're capable of canyon carving. They dust a bit but have little noise. Nearly perfect IMHO. I could push them to do track duty, but I wouldn't. I'd buy track pads for the track.
I run race pads on my AP Racing BBK for the Lotus Exige S and they make some noise on the street, but less in the canyons or when you really push them. I'm going to install some street pads in the front for the street, but again I'd swap in track pads if I were heading to the track.
BTW, I have no idea what an "easy track day" is. Easy and track day are a contradiction to me.

If you like running track days, you will be money ahead in the long run by picking up an extra set of rotors (solid, no holes), pads (PFC 01's), change your brake fluid (Motul 600) and grab a second (cheep set) of track wheels & tires.....then you can attack the track without taking a drive out in the dirt because the brakes went away.

From experience, I have to go alone with what has been said; You get what you pay for.
