Default Which exhaust should I get?

I just bought a 2005 C6 with stock pipes but, I want a low pitch rumble of some sort at idle. I don't want anything that is going to drive me crazy or I can't hear my wife while cruising down the road. Please give me any suggestions you may have on which exhaust to buy. (cat back, headers, ...)

As little as possible of course!!!! I don't have a budget yet because I don't know which way to go. If I had to do a budget now I would say not over 2k at this point.

I bought a used set of Corsa sports, from a forum member, and couldn't be happier. Louder than stock, but not too loud...and no drone. Just a nice, low rumble at idle with a subdued growl as you work through the gears. Almost dead quiet at cruise. And a nice, low roar at WOT. I later added a AIRAID air filter system and it sounds even better as you work the gearbox! No "high school" stuff...no "look at me" sounds...just a discreet, but noticeable exhaust note. Just watch the forum classifieds closely and don't hesitate when one shows up. Figure about $700.00/$800.00 for a used exhaust (Wait for a Corsa Sport) and about $250.00 for the AIRAID, new. You'll have a hard time trying to wipe the grin off your face!

Wait a minute. Did you say you want to be able to hear your wife while driving.

LOL you must not have been married for too long. JK

I put the Borla ATAK system on my '05 A4. It's loud, but in a good way, and no drone at any rpm. No wife to listen to but I do like the radio at normal volume. Good luck finding what's right for you.

Corsa for no drone. Most of the other cat-backs out there drone to some degree - you should ride in some cars with exhaust first to see whether it is something you can live with.
