I have a 2008 Z51 M6 Coupe. Current Mods are Vararam and Tune. Next I am thinking about the G6X3 cam with LG Headers but a few people have recommended that I do the Headers with 4.10 gears instead. I can't do all 3 right now, so which combination would be best for a mostly street driven car. Thanks!
You have a z51, your transmission ratio with the stock gears is like a 3.90. Imo it would be a very bad deal to put in 4.10 gears. Your end ratio would be a 5.27 that would not be a good street car even in a six speed.
Your car would be allot faster with a cam and exhaust and less likely to destroy your entire drive-train than a gear swap would to 4.10 on a z51.
If you just drive it on the street or drag race, get the gears. If you road course HPDE or race the car, it makes the oil temps borderline ridiculous with 3.90 or 4.10 gears. Plus you are shifting more on a road course and that slows you down. My last car was a GTO, which had Z06 ratios in the trans. That car was so much more fun with 3.91 gears. A cam made it more fun, but I would definitely do gears first.

Have you actually driven a Z51 with 3.90 or 4.10 gears?
It works just fine and it does not destroy the drivetrain and the effective ratio for any gear doesn't become 5.27. Lots of guys on here with gears and z51s. There are a bunch of A6's with 3.15 and 3.42 gears which results in a steeper 1st gear than a Z51 with 4.10s.
From a roll the cammed car will beat the non-cammed 4.10 car. From a dig, eventually the cammed car will beat the geared car, but the gear car will be easier to get moving.
