broke trans
driving home from vacay did a slight down shift to 4th to pass on I95 and it felt like I hit rumble strips vibration and noise. I pulled over and the car makes a terrible rattling noise in any gear besides 1 and 2. I assume possibly input shaft twisted but I'm no trans expert. what you guys think? 06 M6

Okay ya 1st and 2nd are quiet and I was able to drive it miles like that in 2nd gear, n, 3, 4, 5, 6 and R all make a rattling noise like parts are just all over in there or something.

Before I buy a trans, you guys know a way I can tell for sure its the trans and not something else? I dont know much about these cars its all new to me so I dont kno if the torque tube or anything else this car has would be capable of causing the same issues? I would just hate to buy a trans pull the drivetrain out off the car and put it back together for nothing.
