I have a 2007 C6 A6.
I was considering installing a Z06 exhaust system (manifolds, cats, and H-pipe) on my car. I know I would have to have the H-Pipe reduced to 2.5 inch to connect to the cat back exhaust.
Which years of the Z06 exahust will fit my car?
I would like to use headers and Hi-Flow cats but passing inspections can be a pain in NC so I have decided to look into the Z06 exhaust route.
No absolute guarantee, but I think any year '06-up will fit. I don't remember anyone saying the Z06 ever switched to an X-pipe from the factory, which would be the only change anyway.
I might be off but AFAIK the headers will not match. The rest can be modified with (what you said like reducers etc.).
The easiest way would be to stick to your stock headers and maybe cats, get reducers and use just the catback of the Z06.
Hope that helps
Headers fit no problem, you only need to buy O2 extensions for the front O2 sensors. Have someone hold the headers and feed in the cats from below, then loosely connect the two. A good time to install bi-mode Z06 mufflers and NPP in a box system. I will be a tight fit if you have an automatic, but doable. According to some this mod brings 30 HP, see this link. http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation...ls2-30-hp.html
I have the complete Z06 system on my car, last time on the dyno it made over 400 RWHP.
