Passenger seat sensor
The PPS (Passenger Presence Sensor) is a fluid (a silicone stuff, I believe) filled pad.
That tube goes down to the gray switch unit that that translates the fluid pressure into an electrical signal to tell the system whether somebody is sitting in the seat or not.
And here's the seat with the foam removed:

Maybe we could help you out better if we know what issues you're experiencing with your seats.
BTW, the tan box s the heated seat controller and the black one has something to do with the PPS system.

I think the only other issue, would have been the passenger sensor as I ca get the sealtbelt belts, harnesses, etc. I assume the track position sensors are still there, but I need to figure that out.
I was hoping I could get it to a point where the only issue would be the seat airbags.

Yes, it can be very complicated!!!!
The pics in I put up in previous posts are of a manual passenger seat that was in my '06 Z06. Neither seat had the lumbar or bolster bladders, and my wife missed the power feature that was in our '05. You can see that the seat in the picture doesn't have any motors.
I got some seats out of a base C6 that had all the high trim level features I wanted, put my Z06 skins on them, ran a power wire to power up the passenger seat, and I had the full power seats with adjustable lumbar and bolsters on both sides.
The ONLY guy who might possibly be able to reprogram your SDM for the SIR system is Chris - is that who will do your reprogramming?
Most people just get some side airbag simulator units in order to put out the airbag light on the IPC, but nobody really knows for sure what that does to the rest of the airbag system - its a very complicated system and some of the different failure modes will disable part of the system, but others disable all the aibags.
Like you are apparently aware, there are Hall effect sensors on the seat rails that detect the "size" of the passenger in order to determine the stages of airbag deployment in a crash.
So, you're dealing with a very complicated system that is mandated by the gubmint - good luck getting it all working in your new seats!!

I think the airbag plugs only simulate the bag being there. I still need to figure out the other stuff, or get him to disable it. I wanted to keep that to a minimum. I may see if I can get a spare airbag system module and have him reprogram that.
