Electrical Issue? HELP!
Having trouble starting with the button but it will start when you mess with the starter relay.
the battery as been replaced.
sometimes it will start and other times it won't.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
1. It doesn't crank at all unless you play with the relay?
Which relay? crank or run/crank Both are used in the starting circuit.
2.Is this a stick or manual? If it is a manual, have you tried keeping the start button pushed in and cycle the clutch pedal?
3. You mess with the start relay, have you tried to see if you can reproduce the engine crank issue while wiggling the relay? Have you taken a good look at the contacts to see if they are spread out or dirty?

Here you can see both the relays I was asking about. Which one are you playing with?

its a standard.
If you look at the below schematic you can see C13 gets battery voltage when the start button is pressed and the BCM activates the digital output to supply the ground to activate the run/crank relay.
You can test the voltage when the start button is pressed.
Does C13 of the crank relay get +12volts?
red lead to C13/black lead to a known good ground.
If yes, then we need to do the same test but using A14 for the crank relay as the ground contact. (Black lead) Do you get +12volts?
Also, did you try the clutch pedal test yet? Push the start button and cycle the clutch pedal to see if the clutch switch is flakey.
