I sold our beautiful 2005 POS with less than 50k on the odometer. I will miss the waves from fellow Vetters and the looks of admiration from commoners. She didn’t go down without a fight though. Her last defiant gesture was at the dealership when we were trading her off... she wouldn't unlock her doors to let me out. I'll always cherish my memories of cheap plastics and fuel injectors that were finely tuned to sound exactly like noisy lifters. And finally; I will always be thankful that the automatic transmission didn’t kill us.
Goodbye forever GM.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that you had so many problems with your '05. That can sure be a turn off to owning future corvettes of any year. However, many of us have perfect to near-perfect cars with no problems whatsoever and have enjoyed many miles and years of driving them. Just something to consider when deciding on another vehicle, whether GM or not. My suggestion is to not give up on GM or other American cars just because of a bad experience with one.

Some folks keep quiet because they either have nothing to say, or they don't like hearing themselves talk. Unlike me, maybe he just doesn't have much to say.
Would you rather he posted every hour about his POS 2005 C6.
A lot of people post on this forum that don't even own a Vette.

Exactly.
ALL car companies have their share of issues, especially with their sports car lines (those self igniting Ferrari 458s come to mind here).

so what did you end up with as a replacement? i would like to try something new also (but still keep my '05 of 127k miles), but hard to find anything out there that can make a suitable replacement... thinking of something lighter weight, but hate to imagine not having a rumbling v8 under the hood. let me know if you found a good transition car.

I'll try not to press your well-made point home any further but....you look at his avatar/name? I mean, c'mon, where exactly do you think his allegiance could be with a "name" like 350Z?
As posted above, one can only wonder if he ever really owned a C6 of any year? or was this just one of those hmmm....what do they call it? TROLLS????
Lets be honest here these cars are nice for the price but workmanship is not exactly stellar.I own 07 Z06 and i love it but when i first got it ,drove it to the dealer and replaced the motor on warranty. They heard the ticking looked into it and kept the car for five weeks.Needless to say i wasnt to happy.I love the car as i said before it flies and handles great but they are not finished like a *** or german car.The guy had an 05 ls2 one of the early c6 models if he got a bad car then he se allowed to complain.

I can't argue the issues you had with your car whether it was new or used. I can say, however, that this is the third post of OP in seven years. And if he's had troubles with his car, certainly some have also on this forum. Nothing works as well as asking questions here with the considerable knowledge and helpfulness of almost all members.
That said, maybe all his questions were answered by doing the search thing, but I doubt it.
As to the quality issue, sure, there are issues and lots of them especially for some who expect flawless everything. And to be reasonable on the topic, it could be better and seems to be better every year, every generation. So let's just agree on that one.
Good luck with your car which you have kept and to the OP in his next car. And to the forum(s) that he will join and hopefully post on should there be any issues with his new ride.

You want to really hate GM then go buy a 5th gen Camaro. On the flip side, if you really want to appreciate the Corvette then go buy a 5th gen Camaro. Good luck with whatever you buy but I've been in few Nissan Z cars and I've never had anything good to say about them. To each his own.
