while I was bolting down the tie rods I noticed one of my upper control arms bolts sticking half way out.. I went to tighten it down and it kept spinning and spinning and I can pull it 70% way out and push it back in. The part were the bolt screws n broke so now the bolt is stuck in it and I tried to wedge something to help try to break it loose.. Didn't work... I need some advice of what to do.. I can't retread it... Looks like I might have to cut it out somehow and weld it in... Please need some help with this issue.
here's the one next to it...
Not good I did the same thing to a C5. What I did was to put the claw end of a crow bar behind the bolt head and pry out while using a socket and ratchet to back out the bolt. then I tried the other bolt in that spot to make sure the threads were good (in the frame) I was lucky mine were so all I needed was another bolt. What caused my problem was that I misread the torque specs and striped the bolt.
If your threads are bad you can put a nutsert in to repair it.
Hopefully all you will need is a new bolt (65 ftlbs)
During hard left corners I hear a clunk... But I thought it was my suspension bottom out or something. But now I know... Only way I see fixing it is drilling a whole through both sides and getting a long bolt and putting a nut on the other side..I really have no idea.. ears open

Here it is pulled out as far as I can get it
Look at the first photo, this area had some trauma, your glass fiber is showing! Better put some resin on it and put a stop to the damage! Are you the original owner?
Can you Mig? You need to make sure the frame nut is square, carefully tack a couple of spots, after cooled off, spray some lubricant, then slowly turn the bolt, you need to have patience, maybe a half turn and let it rest a bit then continue until removal. The key is not to generate heat while loosening. Do not use air tool on this process!
After, you can make a better seal weld, dress it down, chase the thread, apply rust preventive internally, then the exterior and you be good to go! Again, stay away from air tools!
yea awhile ago someone hit my car in the parking lot and left a scuff mark witch buffed out..They wasn't there when I cam out of the store. So I didn't see the need to call the insurance company. I owned the car since 09. A old man in his 60's owned it before me. Yea I thought about mig welding it..Thanks for the advice..Judging by how far the bolt was out I cam to a conclusion that it rattled loose and after a hard corner it broke the threaded square welds. The bolt next to it seem like it was only torqued to 35. That one was coming loose as well....Good thing I caught on to this! That would of been a really really bad day...
The tread isn't striped... The little square hole with the treading welds broke and there for it just spins... the backing is far to big to yank out of the frame and also I can rig something to unscrew the bolt.. Even when I do get the bolt unscrewed the backing will fall inside the frame. Best way is going to mig weld 4 spots... get the bold out.. coat with rust preventive and then weld all the way around it and put the bolt back in... done. I think that's how it's going to go down... once I get it to a welding shop
