Default For anyone considering meth..

After tons of reading and great information from the members of CF, I decided to add meth to my car. I just want to say that anyone considering it should not even think about going with anything besides Alky Control.
I recieved the kit from Julio and it is very impressive. Top notch components all around and the way the pump fits perfectly in the fendor is amazing. Just as important as that, Julio is the best. I started the install this weekend,( I have until spring), and being as I have no experience with this I had tons of questions. By email or phone, Julio is always there to answer and to tell the truth, by now I think I would have told myself to screw off. I am really a bug.

All this to say, I have dealt with many great vendors on CF, and thanks to all of them but Julio really goes above and beyond.

where did you install it given the corosive properties of meth and your eforce blower?

I will install the nozzle in the intake the same as with a centri. I have heard all the talk of corrosion to the rotors. I have yet to see proof of this, and furthermore if it really happens I assume it would take years and I am ok with that risk. I even asked edelbrock about it but they did not reply. The way I look at it, its the same as listening to people who tell you adding a blower cause your motor to explode. These are chances I am willing to take, especailly since I see no proof.

The next portion of fun is dialing it in.
What size nozzle, when to start spraying, when to go full blast?

What about the tune to take full advantage of you meth injection?
All in all you want it to be seamless, so you can't feel where it starts and where it goes full blast while packing in as much as possible.

The easy part is the installation, the fun part is dialing it in.

Lucky for me the only thing I dial is a phone. My tuner here has lots of experience with meth and I am confident he will get the job done right. We till run it off the maf, rather than off boost, since the eforce makes so early.

Did the kit come with install instructions? Is this the same as the ECS kit? I always hear them talked about like they are the same.

They are the same. Alky Control kits. It comes with install instructions and someone more savy than me could probably do the install without any issues. I had questions even with instructions because........ I dont know.. because I'm slow i guess.

Got to agree, I had an Alky system on my blown C4 before I sold it and it permitted me to get rid of what seemed to be the miles of plumbing for all the intercooler crap. I recovered a few pounds of boost. Julio uses top quality components. Just needs the requisite amount of tweaking to dial it in. Julio is always around to answer questions.

The "ECS Alky control kit" came about because we fitted the original kit for the C5, Julio was not making a bolt in kit at that time. (ten yrs ago?) Again when the C6's came around, and also for the new Camaro. So we have worked "hand in hand" with Julio for many years now, he is a fantastic person to work with and very customer oriented.

Nice job doing your own install!

Doug,
Thanks to yours and Julios great work someone like me can do this install if we are willing to take our time and ask questions when needed. I enjoy the challenge and have all winter to play around with my car. Next I am installing your ECS axle loops. People like you, Julio and others in this community make owning a corvette more satisfying.
Thank you.

Mine runs of injector pulse width. Very accurate and you can data log so you know precisely what's going on.

I am sure that works great as well. As you can see by this video, with julios MAF converter it gives a nice linear meth flow based on air flow (and in turn rpm). For a pd blower it seems the way to go.
