Default C6 motor number

Where can I find the motor number or chasis number imprinted in the C6 Vette? A few countries required this number for registration. I had the same issue with my Mazda. It took several people and weeks to find it. It is almost hiding in some cars (not visible to the eye).

I am not talking about the VIN number on the windshield.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on the left side rear of the engine block and is typically a nine digit number stamped or laser-etched onto the engine at the vehicle assembly plant.

If you pull off the fuel rail cover you should be able to get in there with a utility mirror and find the VIN stamp.

If you could stand over the engine with your feet at the back of the motor and with the front facing away from you and look down, it should be under where the fuel rail covers the furthest part back on the cylinder head on the drivers side. It is on top of the flattest surface with a slight angle to the left.

When I was doing my R8C, I saw them enscribing the VIN, onto the block right above the oil filter location if I remember correctly.
