So I broke an axle...
NOTE: THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE AXLE SEAL REPLACED ON THE SAME SIDE
So before I loosen the nut I noticed this:

Notice the heavy indications that a impact gun was used.
Than after pulling the axle out I notice that this wasn't a normal break like I twisted my axle, this was a break that was pulled first than twisted...back to the impact gun being used to tighten my axle nut.

Could I be wrong? Could it just be that's how it's suppose to be? Funny the driver's side nut that was installed from GM didn't tell the same tale.

To sum it all up. The axle nut was torqued down so hard (with an impact gun in this case) that it stretched the shaft from the CV housing against the hub. Added with driving 400Hp and torque the end result is this.
The question is will the dealer take it and do what's right or will they do the typical blame game where it's everything else that's at fault but them. Being a under paid mechanic before I've used impact guns for everything! However I had more common sense.

I mainly used impact guns to get the nuts and bolts off. Going back on it's just been to snug it up. This guy however was too lazy to get his torque wrench.
Thanks for the links. I've seen those and more. I found a link here showing a lot of pictures and a couple of them look similar to my break the others just shattered theirs from pure horsepower.
