Default Fender Stripes INSTALL?

I ordered GM fender stripes. Has anyone put these on before? They look like they center the front wheel and are a couple inches away from the rear of the headlight. Can some one tell me the exact distance from the headlight.

I understand the GM kit comes with a template, I also plan on buying a set.

It's a decal rather then a sticker, not to tough to do yourself, keep wet with soapy water until satisfied with location.

I put them on my car myself. I was a little nervous because of the price of them. They turned out great. They come pre-stuck to a template that wraps around the curve of the headlight so you know exactly where to place them. A little tip I would have would be to have a hair dryer close by so you can give it a little heat to help them wrap around the curves of the fenders a little better. I did my passenger side first without any heat. It worked, but then I tried it on my driver's side with a little heat, and it was much easier.

These are the GM oem stripes that came with my car. They are Light Silver with Cyber Gray borders. I haven't mounted them yet because they do not flow well with the CRM. A reverse color stripe would be better on my car. They come in a heavy cardboard and are flat. If you buy from a dealer, they should come to you like these. If you buy from a 3rd party, they will probably come to you in a poster roll.

They come with detailed instructions & alcohol wipes.

Instruction page.

They are laid out in template format for easy mounting. Align the forward edge at the headlight curve then the bottom edge slightly above the fender flare. It should not be placed at the edge, on top of the flare curve as that will cause it to peel prematurely. The template has about 3/16th of spacer on the bottom edge and that should be on top of the curve.

Do a few trial fits before attempting to mount them. Do you see the two cutouts below each of the stripes? Those are for you to do correct alignment on the curve, to better facilitate placement. DO NOT MOUNT THEM DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE CURVE: THEY WILL PEEL OFF PREMATURELY!

Follow the instructions closely. The key is to keep the backing wet so if you aren't happy with your outcome (before the squeegee process) you can remove them and start over..........don't use too much soap in your mix! Using a hairdryer, after squeegee, will help alot with the lying flat and curing process.

vettestripes.com........you are paying $300 more for the GM ones bc of the little *** in the corner. They can make any color combo you want.

figured I would let you know, if you didn't hear about them.

lol yeah, Chevy knows how to make a buck of the corvette group. Its a vinyl sticker with a proprietary emblem on it. Take the emblem off BAM savings of $275 or more.
