Default Guess my dyno numbers!

The last time I went to the dyno my car put down 359/364 with a set of Kooks 1 7/8" headers and Bullet exhaust. I got a pretty nice Christmas bonus at work so I bought a set of PRC Stage 2.5 243s, 220/220 .581/.581 cam, FAST 102, and a Callway Honker. Anyone want to guess as to what my new numbers will be? Since I went with such a small cam I'm hoping to at least reach 400/400. I'm going to get it tuned this coming weekend, but I just wanted to get a feel for what I should expect.

Forgot to mention that I went with stock head gaskets and had the heads milled .020".

LS2 right? I guess 420/410, should be a nice set-up.

I would expect at least 440whp, but your baseline with just headers seems a bit low.

I agree about the low base numbers. I would guess that combo would make 445/425 or so. Any reason you went with such a tame cam?

It's an auto. With just the headers and no tune it was 328/349 I think. I don't have a real baseline since the first dyno run was with the headers. I thought auto LS2s were around 325-340 stock? Oh well. It's all about the gains! Though it would be nice to hit 440/418 .

I went with a small cam because I drive this thing all the time and it's already unpleasant enough with the bullets. Plus, I'm not a fan of the lopey exhaust and I didn't want to give up a bunch of torque on the low end.

Does that cam require a stall and are you putting an UDP on at the same time?
Staying with stock fuel injectors or bigger?
Should have a nice torque curve.
Bullets could easily be swapped out for something a bit more DD friendly.
Regards, Eric

It's small enough to not require a stall. From what I've read and who I've spoken to anything in the low 220s duration should be fine for an auto with a stock stall. I didn't go with a UDP, but since I installed all the parts myself it won't be that big of a deal to do it in the future. I'm also staying with the stock injectors for now. I'll get bigger ones if required, but I don't plan on doing much more after this performance-wise (though that's what I thought after the headers ).

Base looks a little low. Best dyno numbers come from little details...

When you did your baseline numbers, were you on stock plugs, original drivetrain fluids, dirty air filter? How fresh was the oil change? Did you run a stock Tstat, how were your ECT and IAT temps?

If you address the above with the mods you mentioned I am guessing you will hit the 445/430mark. A nice setup, with a lot of midrange hit. No need for gears with that combo!

What do autos usually get with just headers? Everything was stock the last time and I had just changed the oil ~500 miles before I took it in. when I changed the heads I checked the gaps and most were spot on. It has a stock thermostat, but I'm thinking I may have the shop install a 160 when I get there. As for the temps, I don't know what they were.

It would be nice to hit 445/430, but I don't know if it will be that high. It does feel like it has a lot more torque now. Accelerating on the highway in 4th or 5th around 55 pulls a lot harder than before.

My bad, I didn't see you had an auto. Your base numbers are good annd I would knock 15 off my previous estimate.

Everything else still applies. The fresher the drive train fluids, the better. Also the thinner the better. Check your tire pressures. Your tuner should tell you if the computer is pulling timing because of iat or ect. I like the 160* t-stat because the temps stay more consistent.

If you only gain 40rwhp from a cam, heads, FAST 102 and air intake I would burn the car to the ground.

You should gain a minimum of 70rwhp even with such a small cam.

My Auto LS2 made right under 400rwhp with K&N, Longtubes, Ported FAST 90, and an underdrive pulley.

It made 367 with Longtubes, K&N and tune, so your 359 with just tune and longtubes seems right on.

Believe me, I'd be more than pissed if I only picked up 40rwph with this combo, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up much just in case.
