Changing tires for racing
Two questions, beyond the obvious better traction, is there benefit to changing from the factory run flats to a soft compound tire? I believe so based on what I have seen in other posts, but why?
Second, I have a spare set of wheels that I would use for race tires, will the swap send an error code when the PCM does not detect the air pressure sensors in the new rims?

the car will set off errors if you drive for 30 mins without the sensors. i swap tires at the track and swap back when done and drive home.
i got tired of doing that so i bought a trailer.

The errors don't matter unless you're trying to turn off active handling though.
