I suspect the passenger window is a little too high in its top indexed position
That's exactly the problem with my brand new GS, but on the driver's side. The weird tihng is my driver's window wasn't indexed, but the passenger side was. Thought there was a problem with the weatherstripping when heaing all kinds of wind noise on the 2-mile drive home from the truck that delivered the car. Pulled the window switch and it closed properly, which was a relief. Window indexed down when door was open, but didn't go back up when closed. Anyway, indexed it, and immediately heard the glass hitting the roof channel (barely), apparently from the back. And on broken pavement, it was making unpleasant noises. Just finished putting closed-cell foam tape over the screws, and problem solved.
But in case the foam tape fails in the near future (it shouldn't), and window contacts screw(s) again, is physical adustment of the only solution? Or is there different levels of indexing? I only did it up, like the owner's manual says (doesn't say anything about indexing in the down position). What's weird is my window not being indexed from the factory. When a forum member tried my car and another identical, mine fired right up, but the other had a completely flat battery. Maybe my car's battery was discharged in the past too !?!. Comments welcome if I should disconnect my battery or not. Don't have a problem now, and if the indexing is the same, no need to disconnect the battery then. Thanks gang.
