Default Planned Z06 Mods

I'm planning on taking my 2011 Z06 to a reputable company which builds NASCAR engines to start with minor modifications to my vehicle.

This is what I plan on doing:

Custom grind Comp cams (which are very popular with our customers for their aggressive sound and performance while maintaining excellent driveability)
Cloyes Hex-A-Just timing set
Melling high-volume oil pump
Comp dual valve springs
Comp titanium retainers
Comp spring seats
PEP valve seals
Comp 3/8" pushrods
NGK spark plugs, all required gaskets, fluids, installation labor, and a custom dyno tune specifically for your car.

I was also thinking about doing the following, but don't know if it will pay off:

Llong tube headers
high-flow cats
ufflers and polished tips

Do headers, modified cats really make much of a difference.

I don't plan on doing track driving.

One concern I have is from what I've picked up from this forum and that is the reliability of the LS7. Please, lets not make this into an LS7 reliability thread, but it is of concern.

My real question to all of you is; do you think this is a good start and is there anything you would change????

I love this vehicle!

I would do headers. They are just a "given".

Engines are air pumps, and headers help move air.

why do you need an adjustable timing set with a custom ground cam? ask them.
throwing the NASCAR name doesnt give any extra confidence, not to me anyways.

if you love the vehicle i would wait for something to go wrong with the engine before messing with it? you are way way inside of the warranty period (re: reliability) why take that away? lots of fun mods to do that they wont drop you for or you can swap back easy
