Default NPP/Mild-to-Wild module problem

Hey guys,

Got a car that had this NPP/Mild-to-wild type bi-mode exhaust system installed and it recently stopped working. The remotes have new batteries and no vacuum lines are torn or split. The problem is that his exhaust is stuck open in the "loud mode", and it won't close to make it quiet again.

We can use a jumper wire from the module power supply and go directly to the vacuum distribution solenoid and it will close, so that tells me that something is awry with the module itself.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or had problems with these little electronic boxes?

Thanks

Not common but it does happen, the controllers occasionally fail.

Just double and triple check the ground wire for the box, that has been problematic for some reason. If everything else checks out then it's probably the control box.

Have you checked the connections at the BCM/IP Fuse Panel? The M2W can be hooked up two different ways. Zero battery drain mode and battery drain mode. It's easiest to hook it up in drain mode. All it takes is for one of the wires to come loose and you could lose the power or ground connection. Make sure the short antenna wire isn't broken off. As mentioned above check the fuse. Pictures and directions for hooking it up in either mode can be found on the Top Flight web page: http://topflightrepro.com/mild2wild-exhaust.pdf

Hi,

I tried several times to program both remote but unsuccessfully. (all connections are OK)
Engine has to be turned off, ok but with or without contact ?
It is said to "press and hold down the two outside buttons" -> Which buttons ? It is maybe clear for you but not for me because when I press and hold the two buttons on the remote for more than 20 sec. the led doesn't flash (both remote and batteires are new)
Thanks for your explanations (maybe a short video will be helpful)

You are reading the instuctions of how to program the Homelink buttons from the visor. The "two outside buttons" would be numbers 1 and three of the three buttons on the visor, not any buttons on the remote.

Hello haljensen,

ooops, sorry. You're absolutely right, I hadn't read the upper section of the pdf file.
The system doesn't work, with both remote, after a long time with the battery disconnected.
Could it be possible that the M2W module is no more in relation with the remotes ?
Thanks.
