Default Dragracing Tips

Any tips for dragracing? Getting ready to take to the track for the first time, looking for any reccomendations. Also any idea what it may run?

Here is the setup:
2007 A6 Mods CAI, Fast 102, Headers, Drag Radials, Vararam, tuned. Dynoed at 378.

I'm assuming you have the stock converter & 2.56 gears. Mid to low 12s.

I have an 05 LS2 with almost the same mods.. (stock intake manifold) and I ran a best of 11.98 @ 117 mph & I have an A4 with 3.15 rear gears...

Under normal DA and track conditions about a 12 flat sounds right.

Yes... That run 11.98 was in "Excellent" air.. but as you say in "Normal Air" I'm running more like 12.00 - 12.15 .. in the "HEAT" 12.35 and slower ..depending on just "HOW BAD" the air is...

If I want to run the 11.50 index class I'll need a nice cam and most likely a 2800 - 3200 converter at least... only problem I have is $$$$

But just as it sits now its close to 12 sec flat, but "MOST IMPORTANT" is it is Consistent As Hell & in bracket racing THAT is what wins races!! Of course a good reaction time (.015 - .035) sure is a help
