I went back in and disconnect the HUD that I installed and all is good. Im thinking that I might have hooked a wire up wrong but they all look good. I did not have the correct switch in that kit that Patrick sent so I just left the car without a switch until he sends the correct one. Will the car not start if there is no switch for the HUD in place. Ill double check the wiring first. Any hints?

I would say yes, an open circuit on a switch could cause a problem. Possibly voltage isn't getting to the ignition switch because of it or something. The HUD has to be wired into ignition in some fashion or it wouldn't come on when the car started. Is it just a pair of wires that go to the switch? What switch is it? Maybe just tie them together and bypass the switch?
the HUD kit was packed with the wrong switch. Everything works as advertised with the HUD connector disconnected. Was very careful with the wiring checked all connections with an ohm meter. Either a wire is wrong (my car could be possibly wired different?) Colors matched custom cable labels. Could have a bad HUD unit or switch needs to be present.
only really 3 options that I can think of...new switch will be here This week.

possibly....that is still one of my could be issues...if so Ill buy a new unit. I see no reason that I have these issues and they go away when I disconnect the HUD other than HUD, or wiring...pretty sure wiring is correct but you never know. Ill check it all when I get the correct switch from Patrick. Ill also check the cable that came supplied with the kit to make sure it is wired correctly/label correctly. You never know!

where are you located? I can test everything you have and I have a switch to see if thats the problem.
Thanks for the offer but I'm really pressed for time between now and Friday morning. I think the car is going to have to sit until April. I'm near Macon. Worse comes to Worse I'll buy another kit and reattempt later

Thats not too far off, I can see if my buddy has some time and can run over and see what the problem is.
When i installed my Hud the car would not do anything. It acted like a dead battery. I tore it apart and checked everything out. What i found is the plug that goes to the projector was not plugged in correctly. As soon as put it back together it started right up.
That is exactly what mine is doing....don't see how you can plug the connector in wrong though.

It was snapped in place..my hands took a beating trying to unplug it. Who ever said that you would have some cuts sure was right. I don't see how you guys do that without beating the crap out of your hands.
Thanks again Andrew!

Well it wouldnt start, unplugged it and car fired right up- plugged it back in and it fired right up- it either wasn't plugged in completely (correctly) or it was a fluke
I then tried to unplug it and had a hell of a time. So I am guessing it wasn't completely plugged in the first time.
