New 2011 Grand Sport. Changed the fluid and pads to single piece DTC 70s get ready for VIR on Friday. Soon as I lowered the car the red brake warning light would not go out, and as soon as you start to drive a chime starts sounding. As soon as you stop the chime goes away, but the light stays on. Everything works fine, emergency brake, regular brakes. I have checked everything I can. Everything looks fine. Bedded the new pads, there fine.
That light can be turned on by several things. Fluid level or a problem with the fluid level sensor, an issue in the EBCM, or the parking brake or its position sensor.
You said you checked the parking brake. So I will assume it is OK. When you changed the fluid did you bump the fluid level sensor on the reservoir? Maybe you did something to it that is causing the light to be lit. If that doesn't work find somebody who has a scanner that can read ABS codes and see if there any codes being set by the EBCM.
Just droped it at the dealer's night drop. I figured it was better to let them figure it out, and hopefully do it in time so I don't miss VIR this weekend. I'll post what they find..
