Shifter problem
My 2008 Z51 six speed shifter has a substantial delay in centering to the neutral position between 3 and 4. When down-shifting, normally when pulling the shifter down out of 5th, as soon as it gets to the neutral gate it immediately centers between 3 and 4. With this vehicle, the shifter sticks between 5 and 6 and will move after a delay of 2 or 3 seconds. Anybody have any ideas what might cause this?

I would start with the shifter. Don't know your situation as far as money and know how. But a mgw shifter is a good place to start. Or try a new factory shifter and see if that works. Someone on here may have a factory shifter left from an upgrade they might be willing to send ya. Then you'll know if the problem lies deeper in transmission or shift box.
