I have read every thread I can find on this but still can't come up with an answer. I have decided to try some 275/40/17 drag radials this year to see if I can get my 60 down.
My question is.. which ones are the best to try. Between MT, Goodyear, and Nitto which are the best strictly for track use ?

Mickey Thompson was the Sh*t for a long time (I still run them). However, I think most of the serious boys are running the Hoosier Drag Radials now. They seem to be sixty footing better. I believe some are hitting mid 1.3 sixtys with Hoosier
Thanks for the input. I ruled out Hoosier because I will drive to the track with them on. I will probably go with MT. I have the MT 19 inch now which are ok on the street but I dont find they hook well at the track. It could also be the driver....
You could also try the Toyo Proxes TQ if you want a less-expensive option. I was cutting 1.5 60fts with them and they're about 60% the cost of the MT or Hoosiers.
I bought Mickeys for my 2nd pair of drag radials, but I did like the Toyos for getting my feet wet.

I will check them out but on a quick look on google they only seem to be a little cheaper. Will probably stick with MT.

Those look good for me on the street. May give them a go next round.
There's a lot more to 60' times than tires. I cut 1.7's on Invos in full street trim at the right track in reasonably good conditions. At my local track and race ready, I've had some occasions where mid/high 1.6's were the best I could muster on Hoosiers.
You should be able to do MUCH better than 2.0s on a 305/35/19 Mickey thompson. You should be able to do much better than that on a stock runflat.
How's your burnout, tire pressure, launch rpm, etc...? That tire should be able to cut 1.5-1.6s with ease. My buddy was running a 265 mickey thompson on an 18" wheel and 1.5s no problem with his blown C6. The 265 and 305 have similar sidewalls since the 305 is a taller tire with the 35 ratio.

I only had a chance to try them a few times at the end of last season and I definitely need some seat time with the car. Also our tracks are not really prepped as well as they could be. I will continue to use the 19s on the street and also try to do better with them at the track, but I want to try 17s also.
Thanks for the advice.
track prep has alot to do with how well your going to hook. I was cutting bottom 1.7's all day last year with my stock clutch babying it out the whole to not burn it up. I went last weekend and couldn't get better than a 1.8 cause the track just wouldn't hook. Didn't matter what rpm I launched at it would just spin and wheelhop.
