Default Texas-Speed Headers and X pipe

I finally decided to go with Texas-speed headers and X pipe. I should get them next week and install them saturday. Does anyone else have Texas speed headers? How difficult is the install on the driver side, I have heard horror stories lol.

I hear the only complaint is that they are mild steel which means they rust....

Subscribed to this thread. I had the question about mild steel. Curious to see how goes the install.

I can't imagine there are many variations on how the tubes are bent and fitted to the C6.

I just put a set of 1-7/8 Stainless Works headers on my car a week ago and it was a breeze. Probably one of the easiest header installs I've done in the last 20+ years.

I feel 'kinda stupid for even considering taking it to a buddy's shop to do on the lift.
I just did mine on the garage floor and it was a cake job. I'm sure the Texas Speed headers are no different. Biggest difference is the materials they are made with. Eventually they will rust. Otherwise they are a great bargain. I was considering them before I stumbled onto a used set of SW's in the classified section.

The drivers and passenger side were both pretty easy... and both dropped right in from underneath without issue.

Yeah I figured they will rust eventually, that's ok I can fix that when it happens. They are a great bargin. You have a awesome looking set up, how big of shot are you running?

I hope they go in that easy, it would be awesome. I put my LTs on my 02 camaro and it wasnt that hard. I'm also going to do it on the garage floor lol.

They are ceramic coated. That should fit the rust pretty well. I have a set of the OBX race headers which are 1 7/8 and I couldnt be happier

It's currently jetted for 100hp. I may go to 150 jetting if the fuel system will support it.

They should be a piece of cake. If you did an F-body, the Vette will be a walk in the park for you. The ONLY bolt that is difficult to reach is the drivers side all the way in the rear... and it's still not that bad. I didn't have to touch the starter... and honestly didn't even disconnect the battery. Just pulled plugs and wires, dropped the old stuff off and went back on with the new stuff. Swapping the O2 sensors over took a few minutes, as I had to remove the heat shields from the manifolds to get a wrench on them. One I had to heat with a torch to get loose too.
The motor in the Camaro is halfway under the windshield. I would NEVER want to work on one of those.

I had a direct port kit for my camaro and had a 120 shot it was great. I haven't ran any nitrous in the vette but I've talked to nitro Dave already and I have something on the way if u know what I'm talking about.

Well it does sound to hard from what y'all are saying. Really glad cause I can only have my car down for a day.

What was yalls power increase with LTs?

I installed the TSP headers on my 2005 M6 and the only issue was getting the old O2 sensors out of the factory manifolds because I didn't have the right socket. I also bent the little metal lip down on the drivers side because it was close to the header.

No but I've only had them on a couple months. I also don't have to worry about salt as much as you. I did scrape them the other day on a road hump and am worried about rust in that area.

One more thing... I used a dremel to bore out the gaskets at the heads because I reused the stock gaskets which are smaller than the 1 7/8" headers. Otherwise you would have a huge restriction.
