Default C6 Wheel Wiki? Help?

Hi all,

I have a 97 Camaro SS that I put C6 wheels on a couple of years ago, and I love them! Bought them from a good fella here on this forum, in fact.

That article gets a lot of hits on my blog and apparently those wheels are really popular for all sorts of swaps. I get a lot of questions about the wheel dimensions. I'm trying to put together a brief 'wiki' of sorts for just these wheels, and the tire sizes that fit best when swapping the wheels onto other vehicles.

I'm aware of 3 finishes for the standard C6 wheels- Silver, Polished aluminum, and chrome. Are there others?

Mine are the 5-spoke design, and I'm aware of another slightly different 5-spoke design, but how many different OEM wheel designs are there for the C6?

The sizes are 18x9 and 19x10, but I don't know the offset dimensions?

From what I've read, Z06, ZR1, and Grand Sport wheels are all larger sizes. Is this always true? Only the standard C6 wheels are 18x9/19x10? On most older vehicles, 19x10 is a tight squeeze already, so anything larger is going to be pushing limits!

Anything you know and can share will be greatly appreciated!!! And/or if there's already a resource that lists these kinds of details, I could just point to that in my article.

Without searching, and off the top of my head the front wheels are 18 X 8 1/2, not 18 X 9. I think the rear offset is 79mm, the front I don't remember (50 something mm?, 53 or 56?). Wheel finishes have been silver painted, polished, chrome, gray painted, and black painted with a red stripe on the Centennial edition. Besides the original 5 spoke design there are what's called the "Gumby", which is a forged wheel where the spokes get wider towards the lip instead of thinner like the originals. A split 5 spoke. And the 2011 and up 5 spoke style, which also offers a machined finish as an option. Not everything, but some info to get you started.

Awesome, thank you Sir!

The more digging I'm doing, I'm finding that people seem to often (mistakenly?) refer to C6 wheels as 'Z06 wheels' and as far as I can tell, the Z06 wheels are 19/20 and at least an inch wider than stock C6 wheels? That's something else I need to highlight...

Almost all Z06 wheels are 18/19, only the Z07 package gets 19/20. I believe Z06 wheels are 18 X 9 1/2 and 19 X 12.
