Default LS2 Which head to be selected

Hey guys new to doing heads as well as v-8's

I recently had the car cammed ill post exact specs later as i need to find the paper, I am looking for a head that will give me a decent torque gain and also is there a how to on the web anywhere, after the head swap will i need a tune if it already has a tune from when the cam was installed heres what the vehicle in question is 05 LS2 Cam (mild) longtube headers, corsa extreme, vararam, hand ported TB.

when the cam swap was done Patriot springs hardened pushrods were installed as well as the c5R timing chain were all done new gaskets and all.

I figure id get as much info as possible before i jump feet first into this and iam in over my head, i just want to actually get my hands in this engine as ive only done cam swaps on lil 4 banger DOHC etc, i guess iam too scared to mess with my car ive wanted since i was 8 lol but the other half of me wants to do some of the work myself so any and all insight and information would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

First step would be to talk to whoever is going to tune it and see what they are comfortable working with and what they have had success with. You could post your cam specs to see who has done what with similar cams. Post what you choose and how it worked out.

I did cam and heads at the sametime so that the I got a cam that would work with the heads and vice versa.

Ask the cam company what heads to use.

If you already have heads on your LS2 (243's I presume)... I would send them off to WCCH: http://www.proheads.com/services.html

R&R'ing the heads is easier than swapping a cam.

Yes you will have to retune it if you swap heads for ones that flow more.

You can also send your stock heads to TEA as another quality option. Another option is Trick Flow heads, if you go aftermarket you can sell your stock heads and recover $350-$400 easily.

I agree with DSOMC6 - R&R'ing the heads is much easier than a cam swap

+1 on the retune, you might require a larger injector which will absolutely need tuning work before starting the car with the new/bigger injector.

R&Ring definately sounds like the route to go now from what I was able to read about heads and cams is essentially they must be a matched set so to speak like I cant just dump whatever cam and head I want into this but if I use my current 243s ill be ok? Sorry for sounding new to this as im still on the learning phase of this. Also im currently in the bremerton washington area, are there any reputable shope around here youcan recommend I just moved from the east coast.

thanks again
