I just installed a MGW in my 07 a couple days ago ! I had a hurst in my 02 z06 for a few years. That shifter was great but it rattled and made alot of noise.
NO noise from my mgw. They give you a nice thick rubber gasket. Coupled with my nice heavy billet aluminum ****. It's the best thing ive done to the car yet !
A related question folks: Do newer cars have a short-shifter from the factory? My '12 GS is not ultra short, but shorter than most. And it's listed as 'short-throw 6-speed transmission'. My worry with shorter throws is the increased risk of missing shifts, added noise, and added force needed (less mechanical leverage). Is it really worth the trade-offs when not tracking the car? Only have 50 miles on my car so far, but already feels pretty good. The notchiness on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts should improve with mileage, and further improve with different fluid (I've read ). Thx.

I've also got a 2012. The shifter is no better than the one in my '05 was. My wife already wants it replaced with an MGW. I shift with a finger or two. I don't ever miss a shift and there is substantially better gear engagement.
Can't say its the best yet!!! I recently purchased one for my 05 based on reviews I had read from various sources, just waiting for better sustained weather to install this and other items. After I purchased it I mentioned it to a former 05 owner and he said straight out "You bought the best" I had one in my car for over 6 years, owner backs up the product 110%, enjoy!!! Re-post once I install it.
Holy crap, I guess MGW is the sh*t or this is an MGW advertisment. My ride came w/ a B&W shifter in it and I thought it was great when compared to driving my buddys C6 w/ a stock shifter. Now I'm intriqued, how much better can a shifter be?? hmmm.

"Short throw" is often marketing-speak, doesn't necessarily mean much. The 2007 GM order guide calls the stock MN6 a "short throw" trans .
I converted my '07 to MGW 6 months ago and love it! No noise, LESS risk of missing shifts, does require a little extra effort versus the stock shifter but no big deal, not an issue at all
